Maxine likes to go by the name Nana even though she's not likely anyone's grandma. Or maybe she is. Nana isn't a youngster anymore and, as such, she has some physical limitations (she's blind and has stiff joints). What Nana lacks in physical prowess, however, she makes up for in wisdom and unending hope that the right person is out there for her. Until that connection is made, she happily waits in her foster home, reveling in the subtle pleasures of life: a good bone to gnaw on, a kiddie pool to cool off in, and a favorite person to hang out with. Even thought Nana is blind and her trail running days are behind her, she does like to mosey on a leash occasionally. With her mellow disposition and accepting demeanor, she would probably be fine in a home with other pets. If not, Nana wouldn't mind being an only pet, as long as she gets to hang out with her people often. She's trustworthy enough to be left alone without any shenanigans. It should be noted that Nana has tested positive for heartworms. It's a treatable condition, and the cost is included in the adoption fee.
